Polari Lesson 6: Body Parts

Polari has a number of terms for different body parts. In the lesson, these terms will be taught alongside example sentences. Firstly, refer to the diagrams below, before proceeding onto the vocabulary list. Be sure to refer to the ‘key vocabulary’ section below the vocabulary list so that you can understand the example sentences.

Eek  Face

Bona to varda your dolly old eek.


Plates  Feet

His plates didn’t fit the batts.


Lucoddy  Body

Riah  Hair

The riah of the prad swayed in the autumn breeze.


Luppers  Fingers

I can’t feel my luppers.


Lallies  Legs

She scarpered as fast as her lallies could take her.


Ogles  Eyes

They had a truly meshigener look in their ogles.


Aunt Nells  Ears

Her Aunt Nells were adorned with the most fantabulosa fakements.


Screech  Mouth

Shut your screech!


Vonka  Nose

His vonka was as bijou as a button.


Ogle riders  Eyebrows

She accidentally fatchered her ogle riders right off.
